I was born in the beautiful island of Cuba and was lucky enough to leave the island with my parents at a young age in search of freedom. We were blessed to come to the United States of America, where I was able to grow with freedom and the certainty that if you work for what you want, you can attain it.
I come from a tied net family, where we all care for each other, and that sense of caring for others translated into what I studied. I have a Masters Degree in Public Administration that has allowed me to work for government funding institutions and non-for-profits organizations related to health. I have worked for more that 21 years for a Non-Profit Behavioral Health organization that provides services to the very needy population of Broward and Miami-Dade Counties, as the Director of Operations. This has allowed me to develop my business management skills, since we are always working with scarce resources; and leadership, due to the fact that our organization provides a whole array of services (including supportive services, such as food services, transportation, etc) making it necessary to manage a significant number of staff with different levels of education and skills.
I love to communicate with other and that also moved me to study languages and literature and obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts. I studied French and Italian which in conjunction with my native language, Spanish, and my second language, English, has proven to be excellent tools when traveling.
I have a big and wonderful family and we all love to travel. We wanted to instill in our children the desire to learn new things and the respect for other cultures and ways of life. We have been successful at this; and living in Miami, in this fantastic melting pot of cultures and ways of life, has proven to be much easier because of the exposure we already had.
Because my husband has a career in Real Estate, I got interested and obtained my license around six years ago. I also obtained my certification as an International Real Estate Specialist (CIPS); I was fortunate enough to take the course in Rome, and I worked in a part-time basis for a while. I also participated in a couple of International Real Estate Conferences, through FIABCI, that took place in Greece and Barcelona. Due to my other responsibilities I stopped working in this field for a couple of years, but I have decided to start working again.
I enjoyed working with people and I also have a particular interest in learning all about new projects throughout South Florida, as well as new real estate trends, and this knowledge allows me to help my clients make informed decisions about their investments in real estate. I have lived in Sunny Isles for 18 years and I am very happy with the transformation of this area and the new upcoming projects as well.
I love music, ballet, to read a good book sitting by the ocean, sharing a glass of wine, good food and a good laugh with friends and family; and I truly believe that technology is a fantastic and necessary thing, but direct human contact can not be replaced with anything better…
I have chosen to work for Decorus Realty because of the high standards they have set for their business and the highly motivated, knowledgeable and professional group of sales associates that have joined them.
